Today we went to see Natalyn's new school. It is still under construction, but I would say 75% is complete (like I know anything about construction). It is very BIG and very nice.
Not sure why I didn't take a picture of the outside front of the building. This is of the elementary courtyard. The school is basically built in a the shape of a bow tie, with one "loop" being the elementary and the other "loop" being the middle school. The inside of the "loops" are courtyards, with fake grass so it will be green all year.
Here is the library, well, the shelves at least.
Here is a picture of one of the Kindergarten rooms. It appears that every grade level has it's own focal wall color. Example: K=purple, 1st=blue....
Cafeteria
Have I mentioned that it is like, 100 degrees!!! Elia Rose was guzzling the water!!
Here is Natalyn with her new Principal. Natalyn just stared at her, she would not talk to her.
At the school, there were hot dogs, ice cream and face painting. There were huge lines to everything, so we skipped out and headed to Sonic and then home.
Here is Elerz enjoying a lemon slush!YYYYUUUMMM!!
I asked Natalyn to smile, this is what I got!
Yesterday, Natalyn was watching Twice a Mickey Christmas and there is a part where Minnie and Daisey are ice skating to the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies from the Nut Cracker. Natalyn loves this song. She wanted to put on a dance recital outside to the music. So I pulled out our Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD and took it outside. Nat was not happy, it was not exactly like the movie.
She was like "that's not the right song!"
I was like "Yes it is!"
She was like "It doesn't sound the same!"
I was like " Hey kid- I was practically a professional dancer in the Nut Cracker when I was your age, I know this is the right song!" (that's right, back in ol'83 I performed with the Tulsa Ballet. I was a clown toy that tumbled out on stage and did a little dance number!)
So we compromised and she finished her recital to Jingle Bells.
Elia was the back-up dancer. Pretty good, huh? Gotta hide those thumbs though, Elerz!
After an extremely HOT day, the A/C went out!!!!
We called our realtor (who will also be the property manager on this house once we move) and they were so great to send someone out last night. (since it was 80 in the house at 10pm). The capacitor went out, all I could think about was the flux capacitor from Back to the Future! I told Scott "hurry McFly-we need to get the flux capacitor fixed so we can get back to 1985!" Scott just stared blankly at me. I think he really thought it was funny, he just doesn't want to encourage all the "funniness!" Anyway, we all stayed in the backyard and watched a movie on the portable DVD player until the A/C was back up and running. Good thing my girls are NIGHT OWLS!
The school looks SO nice! We need to drive out there! You are so funny about Back to the Future, I would have thought of that too. One of my favorite movies!
