One of those weekends

You know when your schedule is off for one day, it seems to take 3-4 days to get back on track. Natalyn did not take a nap on Friday, resulting in a not so positive attitude on Saturday. I had also decided on Saturday that we would attempt potty training again. I have resorted to M&M's (Natalyn calls them treats, if I refer to M&M's as M&M's she has no idea what I am talking about) in a glass jar on the vanity in her bathroom. BAD MOOD + VISIBLE TREATS= 2YR OLD FLIPPING OUT!!! It was a real bad idea. We will try again another day.

Natalyn found a mud puddle on the sidewalk this weekend. At first she was only walking through it and the soles of her shoes are thicker than the depth of the puddle, so everything was fine. She then decided to jump and was immediatly hooked. She loved the spash she created. In about 2 seconds her shoes, socks and legs were covered in muddy water. I then took her shoes off and let her play in the puddle (I hear the gasps of shock!!!) and one hop later she slipped and fell down flat on her back. I am talking about mud on her shorts, shirt, hair,etc...(you get the idea). I justed started to laugh, it was sooooo funny! Natalyn was not impressed at this point and was very perplexed as to how to get the mud off her hands (she HATES getting her hands dirty). She resorted to cleaning her hands with her stinky socks she had worn all day-NICE!! I was still busy laughing!!

We (as in Natalyn and myself) went to Olive Garden to eat this weekend because A: Natalyn wanted pizza and B: I had a coupon. We were seated and I promptly ordered salad and pizza, Natalyn just kept saying "pizza mamma, pizza mamma" over and over again a million times. Apparently she enjoyed saying the word "pizza" more than actually eating it because all she would eat were the croutons out of the salad and then proceeded to give herself a ranch dressing manicure at which time I flagged the waiter for a to-go box and the check!!!

One last thing,
Today is my grandma's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHAY NAN-NAW!!!!!!

BABIES ARE SUCH A GREAT WAY TO START PEOPLE

Well, today was Jaimi's big day. Little precious baby Jordan Kate Edwards was born at 11:43am (or was it 11:48?, I'm not sure, let's just say noonish, SORRY JAIMI!!!) She is 6lbs 11oz and 18 inches long. Mommy and baby are doing GREAT!! If Jaimi wants to share anymore labor/delivery details than that, she will have to on her own blog.
Now that everyone seems to be having the "second child", I reflect on what a miracle life is and that our kiddos seem to grow up in a blink of an eye. It just seems like yesterday that Natalyn was still not sleeping through the night and would wake up crying wanting to be rocked (oh wait that was last night!), but just when we think we will never get a full night's rest, the sleepless nights are over and behind us.
Reba, Scott's mom, recently gave Scott and I a book that I LOVE and HATE, it is called "Let Me Hold You Longer" by Karen Kingsbury and I feel the need to quote from it immediately.
*******************************
"Long ago you came to me, a miracle of firsts: First smiles and teeth and baby steps, a sunbeam on the burst. But one day you will move away and leave to me your past, and I will be left thinking of a lifetime of your lasts...."

"I look ahead and dream of days that haven't come to pass. But as I do, I sometimes miss today's sweet, precious lasts...."
***********************************
Wipe your tears away and I will end on a happy note. While Natalyn and I were out on our walk this morning, in honor of Jaimi, I stopped at a garage sale and browsed abit. No, I did not buy anything, y'all know how germs on people stuff that I don't know grosses me out!!!

I would attach a picture of Jordan but either I or my computer is stupid and I can't get her pictures to pull up. It's late and I don't care at this point!

CHICKEN 4 BREAKFAST?

Well, Natalyn and I had a pretty eventful morning. We met Jaimi and Jackson (Jackie-as Natalyn calls him) at Chick-fil-a (Reba, Scott's mom calls it Chicka-fil-a) for what was supposed to be breakfast, but turned more into brunch time eating. Natalyn and Jackson played in the play area and tried not to get plowed down by kids that are way too old and way too tall (per the sign conviently located outside the door and also inside the play area) to even be participating. OH WELL!! Natalyn and Jackson play really well together and are best friends, atleast according to Natalyn. It is also nice to be good friends with the mom of your child's friend, ya' know?!? We talked about Jaimi's big day tomorrow and decided to freak-out together over it a little! Please pray for a safe (and quick---more importantly PAINLESS) delivery and a healthy baby girl.

The kids ate like 2 bites each and the moms finished up-YUMM-O!
Oh- if anyone cares, I did get my Dr. Pepper for the day (sorry Sonic, maybe tomorrow)!

Also, I need to send out a SORRY to all those that showed up at David Peel Park for playgroup. It rained last night and y'all know how much I like Natalyn to get dirty, so maybe in 2 weeks we can try again!

Neither Jaimi or myself remembered to take our cameras so NO PICTURES, you'll just have to use your imagination!!

MMMM Good Chocolate

WHAT A DIVA!!! (just like the bib says!) hehehe

Natalyn just enjoyed a nutritious lunch of pizza, strawberries and her favorite dessert, chocolate!!! Remarkably, Natalyn managed to contain her chocolate pudding to her face only!!

I FINALLY HAVE A BLOG

I know, it's about time I finally started a blog for myself. I so enjoy viewing the "high-lights of life" that my friends and family post, but now it's my turn to share as well. I did have my friend Jaimi Edwards help me set this up since I am not the most, shall we say, computer literate. Had I tried to set up an account on my own, I would have probably locked up the internet for all users in NWA!!!hehe Kidding aside, I am really excited to share with all of you the wonderful, and not so wonderful, events in the SILLy household! ENJOY!!!
