FRONT TEETH!!!

OK.  This is a picture of Natalyn, it's not the greatest pic, but check out the front tooth.  Notice the darker shade??  Well, here how the story goes.........

When Natalyn was 2.5yrs old she fell on her face on the racquet ball court at the gym and busted her lip and the gym line above one of her front teeth.  Within a month the tooth was discolored so we took her to an amazing ped. dentist in the area. He has monitored it periodically and has always said that there is blood flow to the tooth.  We were really hoping it would "hold on" until she was closer to 7, but last weekend it did finally abscess.  So we took her in Tuesday and was told that the tooth has to be pulled, plus her remaining front tooth and a bridge will be put in to hold the spacing for her permanent teeth to come in around age 7.  I kinda glazed over because I didn't want Nat to be made fun of when she starts school this fall (or to have a gap for the next 18 months-ish) also I was concerned about her forming a lisp.  The dentist advised we could put in temp front teeth for the next 18 months for cosmetic/lisp purposes.  I was like "yes!"  Scott was like "$$$$!" (just kidding).   So she is scheduled the end of the month for this procedure to take place.  I haven't told her exactly what is going to happen and probably won't until that morning.  She does know that she is going to loose her front tooth, with is sore and really bothering her.  She is also excited about getting some cash from the Tooth Fairy!!!

  1. When my cousin was 8 she knocked out her front two teeth and had to have a cosmetic bridge put in. She actually just got her permanent bridge put in last month. She had to weight til her gums (not sure if that's the right word) were mature enough for a permanent solution.

Sorry you are having to go through this!
