JEWELRY PARTY

(Above: Anne and her daughter Avery)
It's party time!!! On Friday, Natalyn and I were invited to our first jewelry making party! Our neighbors Anne and Avery were hosting. We had alot of fun!! It was just the girls!!!
I did manage to get one picture with Natalyn. She is sporting her new necklace she made. She was so proud of herself, the girl "loves her some jewelry!!"

Such concentration!!! I didn't think Natalyn had the fine motor skills to accomplish this yet, but she did great with bigger beads and thin ribbon!! Natalyn picked out these multi-color beads at Wal-mart and was so excited to get to share them with her friends!!!

What a great party!! We will have to host one in the near future!!

********************************************************

Ok. I know that the title is Jewelry Party and I bet you are wondering "HUH?!?"

I thought since I had not updated my blog in a few weeks that I would add these to this post. Last Thursday, Natalyn enjoyed playing with her bubbles, the soap that is... The picture above is Natalyn washing our storm door with her hands. (No amount of Windex is getting this off, as of today there is a still a hazy smudge on the glass!!)

Work up a good lather....

And wipe on and wipe off (OK, step #2-not so much!) This is starting to look like I am training the next Karate Kid!!!

Natalyn doesn't technically make "bubbles" she pretty much swings the bubble wand around and throws soap everywhere.

Now that is what I call "time management," just save an hour and go ahead- pour the soap right out of the bottle!

HAVING FUN WITH THE COUSINS!!

Natalyn wrestling with Daniel and BIG POOH. (I think BIG POOH won!!)
Amanda, Natalyn and me!! (I feel really, really old!!)

Amanda, Natalyn and Daniel

Yesterday, my cousin Amanda and her husband Daniel (newlyweds) came to visit us. I have not seen Amanda in about 10 years. The last time I saw her she was a teenager and is now a beautiful woman. This was the first time Scott, Natalyn and I met Daniel, he is REALLY tall, I think I came up to his elbow, I felt like such a shrimp!! He was really nice and they seem really happy! We all went out to eat at Puffy Changs (as my friend Paula calls it because that is how she rolls-hehehe). And then back to our house for cupcakes made by Natalyn. When I told Natalyn that she was going to meet some more cousins, she kept talking about playing with toys, which I could only assume that she thought all cousins were kids (since the only time I refer to someone as a "cousin" they usually are another kid). So when she first met them, she was not real impressed that they were adults, but she warmed up to them real quick, especially when Daniel played in the floor with her and BIG POOH for 2 hours!! They also have a new puppy named Jackson. Again, this confused Natalyn since her B/F/F is also named Jackson. We had a great time and hope to see them again real soon!!!!

YOUR HAVING A GREAT DAY WHEN........

Ok. Lets just start by saying I have no pictures of Natalyn to post today-sorry grandparents!!!
Let me get back to how "wonderful" our day started. You know your having a great day when you get your child up (Natalyn=cranky pants magee) in the morning and it takes her about 45 minutes to eat her cereal and then when she has eaten all the cereal she pours the remaining milk in her lap, which then requires a bath (bath #1 of the morning). After which I get Natalyn dressed and we are about to leave for the gym because I really DO want to get my Zumba class that starts at 9:30. Natalyn is doing a great job with potty training right now, so I hurry her into the bathroom before we leave only to find (after I have pulled the pull-up down of course) that literally poop exploded out of the pull-up. It was up the back, down the legs, you get the picture. This leads us to the bathtub again (bath #2). Natalyn was really upset and was crying because she pooped on Cinderella (which is the character on her pull-ups). We do finally manage to get out the door 45 minutes later!!!NO ZUMBA TODAY!!!

We were not planning to be home this week. Scott, Natalyn and I were planning to take a mini-vacation this week to Branson and OKC. It started on Saturday, Scott's side of the family had a family reunion and to fund the food for the following year they have an auction. Scott's dad was the model for the items that were being sold. Half way through the auction, the item up was a small (I am talking kid sized to pull stuffed animals in) red metal wagon. Pat (Scott's dad) put the wagon on the ground and Natalyn walked right up and put her doll in the wagon and immediately started to pull it around. Pat joked saying it looks like he will be bidding on this as well. Apparently, a lot of family members decided to talk advantage of this and kept bidding against Pat and $25 later, Pat won the wagon for Natalyn. The wagon is probably only about $4.99 at Wal-mart. But Natalyn loves it and has played with it everyday. I told her that she will have to play with it everyday for the next 5 years!!!

We went to Branson on Sunday and had just finished eating supper when we received a call that Scott's grandmother had just suffered a mini stroke/seizure. So we left early Monday morning from Branson and headed to Miami. Please be in prayer for Ermalene (Scott's grandmother) and the family as it looks like she may not live much longer.

Ok. As I am typing this, I am looking over at Natalyn who is on the couch with a piece of paper and an ink pen. She has ditched the paper and is working on some pretty impressive body art on her legs, looks like we will have another bath (that will be bath #3)before nap!!!

OUR WATER BABY

(Above: Scott and Natalyn summer '07. This is Natalyn's first dip in the pool. She was around 4 months old.)

Nothing real exciting has been going on, but I do have several family members that check my blog regularly and love to see pictures of Natalyn. I thought that I would post pictures of the last three summers to show how much Natalyn has grown over time. Natalyn has always loved the water, just like her mama!!! If she finds even a puddle of water she HAS to play in it. This morning we walked over to an Elementary that is near our home and Natalyn slid down the slide and at the bottom of the slide was a puddle, she decided she would just sit down and roll in it. (NICE). But it was fine (because she had play clothes on)and it seemed to cool her off for the stroller ride back to our house!!

I totally LOVE this picture of Natalyn. She was toooooo cute!! I have this picture in her bathroom. (Aug '07, 6 months old)

Cousin Keeley and Natalyn "catching some rays!" Natalyn loved to wear her hat (at this point, she still had very little hair) and of course, the shades!!!
(June '08, Natalyn 16 months, Keeley 6 yrs)

Natalyn's hair finally decided to grow, you can see the little curls. She really loved this visor her Grandpa Nixon gave her. (Aug '08, 18 months)

Natalyn's first trip to a splash park. This was while we were in Florida on vacation in January '09. (Natalyn 23 months)

First time in the pool this summer. Natalyn loves to take all her kitchen toys outside and make soup. I love her pigtails!!!! (May '09- 2 yrs)

Taking a quick second to pose for a photo! Natalyn loves to play with all her friends!!
(July '09-2yrs)

Can I get any closer to Natalyn's head for this photo??! I still think it is cute though. This is from last week, Natalyn is actually chasing her friend Jackson with a cup of water to throw on him.

Well, I hoped ya'll enjoyed seeing some pictures of Natalyn over the past summers. We sure have had alot of fun playing outside!! Our little water baby is not a baby (or all that little) anymore!!!

SEW HAPPY!!

I was in the mood to work on some sewing projects this past week. The picture above is a table cloth and napkins I made for our neighbor Avery. I didn't even know that I could embroidery with my machine until I read the manual! (I have only had the machine for like a million years!!)
Natalyn is really starting to play with her baby dolls. She keeps taking dish towels from the kitchen or washcloths from the bathroom to use as baby blankets, so I thought I should make her some.

I cleaned out Natalyn's closet and had this basket left over. I used some scrap material and stuffing and made her a bassinet for her baby dolls.

These old burp clothes are now towels for Natalyn's kitchenette.

I hope Avery and Natalyn are "sew" happy!!!

FROG DAYS OF SUMMER!!

Jackson found this little "friend" in the pool last Thursday. I am SOOOOO glad he found it before me!!
At one point, he accidentally dropped the frog and it landed on Jaimi's foot. We (as in Jaimi, Natalyn and myself) ran off screaming and left Jackson standing there laughing.

After I made Jackson put his frog buddy in the corner of the yard, (I have to admit, I was secretly hoping the frog would go under the fence and leave) he and Natalyn played in her pool and on the Slip-n-Slide for a few hours. The weather was great. Jaimi was able to keep Baby Jordan outside under the umbrella.

BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP

Today, Natalyn went to Build-A-Bear Workshop for the first time! (And yes, she insisted on wearing her sunglasses the entire time!)
She carefully selected the perfect bear.

That's the one!!!

Natalyn got to control the speed of the stuffing machine.

Then she picked out a heart for her bear!!

And placed the heart inside the bear!!

Next, it was time to give the bear her first "bath!"
SPLISH-SPLASH!!!

Natalyn registered her bear and got a birth certificate!
She named her bear Berry!!

Natalyn and Berry!!
(Purple bows-imagine that!!)

Shopping like a pro!!!
(Natalyn has a gift card in her hand, but doesn't it look like an American Express?!?!)

Natalyn wanted to take one last picture with her new buddy Berry!!
What a GREAT DAY!!!
