Back to the house building saga..........The end of last week the brickers ran out of brick, so a few more pallets were ordered. They were delivered this last Tuesday. Right when I pulled up to the house I could tell there was something odd about the bricks on the pallets. I walked over and the label on the pallets was NOT our brick!!! I pulled the invoice off the top of a pallet and it noted that the delivery was in fact our brick. Our brick is more of a darker red with brown/khaki tones. This brick was more a blush red ( I made that color name up) with black tones. I immediately emailed our builders assistant to have the foreman check on this before bricking resumes. I bet ya' already know what happened, huh? Oh yes, the following morning the brick masons finished bricking our house in Wilson Creek, not Worthington Park (brick names). I showed up right as they were about to finished and literally gasped!!! "THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT BRICK!!!" I immediately got ahold of the builder's assistant whom informed me that our brick was delivered to the wrong site and and vice/versa. I never could really get a straight answer as to why the wrong brick went up on our house when I had notified them prior to brick continuing. Anyway.. the wrong brick is scheduled to come down, if there is any fascia damage during that process, it will have to be replaced as well. I don't know why this surprises me!!!! I wonder if we will ever move in this house!!!!!! On a positive note, the tree that was on the property line between ours and the neighbors house came down this morning (one 2 days later than originally scheduled). I think the area looks so much better. Don't worry we plan to plant a few trees on our lot to make up for this loss.
